Photonic Computing Architect (m/f/d)

Your mission
● Translate complex algorithms and computational tasks into efficient optical systems, leveraging the unique advantages of photonics for enhanced performance, power efficiency and scalability
● Design and architect photonic computing solutions tailored for AI applications, optimization and analog computing
● Develop and implement system-level simulations to evaluate performance metrics and optimize system design
● Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including physicists, engineers, and product managers to define system requirements and specifications
● Stay abreast of the latest advancements in photonic computing, analog computing and AI research to inform technology roadmap and product development strategies
Your profile
Must-have
● PhD in Physics, Optics, Electrical Engineering or a related field with a minimum of 3 years of industry or post-doc experience
● Strong background in photonic computing with a proven track record of translating algorithms into optical systems with demonstrable advantages
● Proficiency in simulation tools such as Python, MATLAB or equivalent for system-level modeling and performance analysis
● Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to adjust to the quickly evolving technologies and methods in the field of photonic computing, coupled with a strong desire to advance professionally and learn new things in a fast-paced, creative work environment
● Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders

Nice-to-have
● Experience in designing and implementing photonic neural network architectures
● Familiarity with emerging trends in photonics, such as lithium niobate photonics and photonic integrated circuits
● Prior experience with commercial product development and technology transfer processes
● Experience leading projects using both agile or traditional methods, managing cross-disciplinary team collaborations to achieve project milestones and deliverables
