Your mission
As Microcontroller Architect at Q.ANT you will be responsible for the architectural design, development, and integration of the microcontroller unit for our photonic co-processor. You will be collaborating with cross-functional teams to define system requirements, create design specifications, and ensure the successful implementation of robust and efficient MCU solutions by contractors.

Key Responsibilities

Architectural Design and Development:
  • Define the architecture and design of microcontroller unit, including core components, peripherals, and interfaces
  • Develop high-level detailed design specifications
  • Ensure scalability, performance, and reliability of MCU designs
System Requirements and Specifications:
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze system requirements
  • Translate system requirements into detailed technical specifications and architectural designs
Integration and Testing:
  • Oversee the integration of microcontroller designs into larger systems and platforms
  • Develop and execute test plans to validate MCU functionality, performance, and reliability
  • Identify and resolve hardware and software issues during the development process
Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work closely with hardware engineers, software developers, and other cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive system design and implementationCommunicate architectural decisions, design changes, and technical challenges to stakeholders and team members
Project Management:
  • Lead and manage microcontroller development projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project milestones
  • Coordinate with project managers to align project goals, timelines, and resources
Your profile
Required Qualifications

Education:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
Experience:
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in microcontroller design and development
  • Proven experience in architectural design and system integration of MCUs
Technical Skills:
  • Strong understanding of microcontroller architectures, instruction sets, and peripherals.
  • Proficiency in hardware description languages (HDLs) such as VHDL or Verilog
  • Experience with embedded systems and real-time operating systems (RTOS)
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++ and assembly language.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with low-power and high-performance MCU designs
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Work Environment
  • You will work in our office in Stuttgart Vaihingen
  • Occasional travel may be required for meetings, conferences, or site visits
